Goodbye and good riddance
Barrie Johnson, Exeland

Immediately following their election loss of 2012, several Southern state government officials, along with many rich and powerful individuals, and a whole bunch of rednecks, started demanding that the South secede from the Union. It would be difficult to describe the thrill I felt on hearing that.
What would that mean? The United States could rid itself of 75% of the racism, prejudice, religious fanaticism and oppression in one fell swoop. Congress would re-regulate Wall Street banks to end predatory lending. We would raise taxes on the rich to the same 35% the working poor is paying. We would end the overseas tax havens that 65% of American corporations use to avoid paying any taxes.
We could choose our own mates and our own sexual lifestyles with no fear of political attack by those who hypocritically do not practice what they preach. Our reproductive choices would be our own with no one having any right to interfere.
Our educational systems would be fully funded so our children could prepare themselves to be contributing citizens.
We would sidestep health insurance companies that are draining billions from our health care system, by expanding Medicare to fully cover all Americans so no one would fall into bankruptcy because of illness.
We could pay for these programs because everyone is paying their fair share, and we will stop attempting to police the Middle East.
We should all call Governor Perry of Texas and encourage him to immediately start secession proceedings. Then pack up Sen. Ron Johnson, Rep. Paul Ryan, Rep. Sean Duffy and Rep. Michelle Bachman, to name a few, and ship them out with him. We would be gloriously free of the shame and embarrassment they cause this nation. We could rebuild the American Dream.
Let's do that. Please, please, please!

Either this man is high on something or delusional. I can't believe the garbage he writes. Far left loon.

In Mr. Johnson's world it makes sense to permit a government bureaucracy to bleed off far more money to control health care system than insurance companies take in. Seventy-five percent of the racists and bigots are in the south - I don't think so, and I've lived all over the United States. Government enforced lending rules put the country in its current recession. Our educational system is the second highest funded in the world, with one of the lowest achievement rates among the industrialized nations. Mr. Johnson and his kindred spirits already have a cuckoo land that would suit them to perfection, if they'd just get tickets to North Korea. And please take Michelle Obama, because we can't afford her. She doesn't pay her way like the Koch brothers

Dear Barry,
America could save a lot more money by turning Gitmo into a resort for the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats that you worship. Heck you could even be close to one of your idols, Comrade Fidel.
