William Emil Miller, age 87, of Barron, Wisconsin, died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at his home in Barron. He was born June 15, 1926 in Prairie Farm, Wisconsin, the son of Emil and Mabel (Cole) Miller.
Bill married Louana Kahl July 16, 1948. She preceded him in death in 1964. He later married Margaret Watkins on April 4, 1975. Margaret preceded him in death on December 8, 2009.
Bill farmed in Prairie Farm for many years. He also did factory work in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and in Prairie Farm.
Bill enjoyed gardening, lawn mowing, horse pulls, his pets and puzzles. He loved making horse crafts, especially miniature horse harnesses and coaches for model horses. He was a member at First Lutheran Church in Barron.
He is survived by his son, James (Gail) Miller of Mondovi, WI; daughter, Gloria Bennett of Leander, TX; son-in-law, Donald Horstman of Cumberland, WI; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Huey Miller, of Murfreesboro, TN and Larry (Bonnie) Miller, of Prairie Farm, WI; sister, Marjorie (Virgil) Anderson, of Barron, WI; sister, Betty Jackson, of Barron, WI; also by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Louana; second wife, Margaret; one son, George; one daughter, Christy Horstman; four brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Barron with Rev. Steve Timm officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in the Township of Dallas. Visitation will be held at Rausch & Steel Funeral Home in Barron on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the church.
