Jerome Jackson

Jerome "Jerry" Jackson, 90, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He was born March 20, 1923 in Maple Grove Township, Barron County, Wisconsin the son of Gunnar and Rena
(Rassmussen) Jackson.
He grew up in the Township of Maple Grove and attended Sunny Side Grade School and Barron High School. Jerry started hauling milk with milk cans at the age of sixteen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II for almost three years in North Africa and in Italy. On December 7, 1946 he married Vivian Burgeson at Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
Jerry owned and operated the Clover Farm Store in Barron until 1950 and at that time bought a farm in the Town of Barron where he resided until his death. Jerry also owned and operated a milk hauling business until 1998.
He retired in July of 1998 at the age of 75 after which he enjoyed doing courier service for Sterling Bank for several years. On February 17, 1996 he married Betty (Miller) Eckman in Barron, Wisconsin.
Jerry enjoyed bowling and roller skating. He was a member of the Barron VFW and American Legion. He was active in the Barron Co. Fair Time Chapel.
Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved the Lord and going to church. Jerry was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Barron.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jackson of Barron, WI; sons, Kenneth (Emily) Jackson of Barron, WI and Lyndon Jackson of Madison, WI; daughters, Diane (Rodney) Jorgenson of Chetek, WI and LaVonne (Thomas) Levar of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Melissa (Joel) Kietzman, Michael (Laura) Jackson, David (Jenny) Jorgenson, Amy (Jeff) Nelson, Caleb (Kiara) Levar, Daniel Levar, Samuel Levar; great-grandchild-ren Hannah Kietzman, Rachel Kietzman, Ava
Kietzman, Dillon Jorgenson, Landon Jorgenson, Kaylee Jackson, Carter Kenneth Jackson, Brady Jerome Jackson; brothers-in-law, Larry (Bonnie) Miller of Prairie Farm, WI; William Miller of Barron, WI; Huey Miller of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Virgil) Anderson of Barron, WI and Bette Miller of St. Paul, MN; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Vivian; one brother, Donald; and one sister, Arlene McAdams.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Barron with Pastor Darrel Robinson officiating. Burial was in Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
