Gale F. Horn, age 87, of Rice Lake, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at Lake-view Medical Center in Rice Lake. He was born February 14, 1926 in Arland Township, WI, the son of Albert and Minnie
He was married in Hillsdale, WI on October 26, 1946 to Denice Balog.
Gale worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator with the Barron County Highway Department and with the Operating Engineers, working in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He was also employed as a milk hauler. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards (especially blackjack at the casino) and
Gale is survived by his wife, Denice, of Rice Lake; two children, Marvin (Irene) Horn, Clayton; and Diane (Jim) Neuman, Rice Lake; five grandchildren, Steve (Heidi) Horn, Almena; Danelle (Erik) Landsworth, Barron; Darryl (Erin) Horn, Coral Springs, FL; Tim (Kira) Neuman, Neenah; Stacy (Lucas) Ludwigson, Chetek; six great-grandchildren, Shaunah Landsworth, Kelin Horn, Kollin Horn, Layden Ludwigson, Kayd Ludwigson, Brittin Neuman; two sisters, Gloria (Harold) Becker, Turtle Lake; and Vi (Warren) Pederson, Barron; one sister-in-law, Anna Horn, Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Myron
Private family services will be held.
Skinner Funeral Home of Rice Lake is serving the family.
