John Hoover

John Herbert Hoover, age 94, of Birchwood, WI, passed away on June 13, 2013 at Heritage Manor in Rice Lake, WI. John was born November 1, 1918 in Rock Falls, WI to Enoch and Carrie (Rogde) Hoover.
John married Thelma G. Simonson on December 21, 1936 in Eau Claire, WI. They lived in rural Eau Claire until his retirement.
John was employed for 40 years and most of those were at Fehr Concrete Products in Eau Claire. After his retirement they moved to their rural property in Birchwood, where John spent a lot of his time gardening and was very generous with all of his produce, giving much to his family and friends. John also loved to deer hunt and fish and made many trips to Canada to catch the big fish.
John and Thelma celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on December 21, 2011.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; his parents; his brother, Eldred; half brothers, Clayton and Alden Kiley; two grandsons, an infant boy, Kurtz and Carl Edward Adams; two sons-in-law, James Hanson and Don Cronkhite.
John is survived by his sister, Avis Kragness; sons, John M. (Kathy), Daniel (Karen); daughters, Nancy Hoover (Kathy Geissler), Jane Cronkhite (Doug Bye), Anne (Tom) Ohrt, Cynthia (Daniel) Bauer;13 grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
There will not be any services. Burial will be in Brunswick Cemetery.
