She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Weyerhaeuser and the Weyerhaeuser VFW Auxiliary. She was employed at Woolworth's in Rice Lake for many years.
Her greatest joy was picking rocks with her sister Jeanie. Debbie also enjoyed going to garage sales and looking for treasures.
She was a recipient of a liver and kidney transplant about 20 years ago.
She is survived by three sisters, Irene Boncimino of Westminster, CO, Donna Gruber of Laramie, WY and Lorraine Poznikowich of Weyerhaeuser; one brother, Mickey Poznikowich of Chetek; an aunt, Helen Szlezinski of Rockford, IL; many nieces; nephews; godchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tom Poznikowich; two sisters, Jeanie Sadowski and Stella Nita Poznikowich; and her lifelong friend, Warren Forehand.
A celebration of Debbie's life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Weyerhaeuser VFW Hall in Weyerhaeuser, with Deacon Craig Voldberg officiating. Her ashes will be buried in SS. Peter and Paul church cemetery at a later date. Debbie's family will receive friends at the hall for an hour prior to service time. There will be a luncheon at the hall following the service.
