Ivanka "Jane" Fox, age 82, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Ivanka was born on December 27, 1931 in former Yugoslavia to Alexander and Paulitza Schnitzer. Ivanka married Jerry Fox of Wausau in 1950 and had three children. She is survived by her children, Debbie Jolin, of Oshkosh, Brenda (Rick) O'Connor, of Reno and David Fox, of Rice Lake; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Both of Ivanka's parents died at a young age. During World War II she was forced to work the black market to survive. After the war she was a displaced person of war. Sponsored by a church group in Wausau, she came to the U.S. in 1948. As she was a trained tailor in Europe, she got job opportunities here in the U.S. Later in life she became a manager for Seifert's clothing stores. She enjoyed golfing, cooking and entertaining friends. If you had met Jane you would not have forgotten her. A celebration of her life will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Rice Lake Elks Lodge on Thursday January 23, 2014.
