Mavis Emerson

Mavis I. Emerson, age 70, of Eau Claire, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
She was a vibrant, kind, and fun-loving person who found particular joy in spending time with her loved ones. She lived for family gatherings during the holidays, trips to the Dominican Republic with family and friends, motorcycle trips and family camping adventures. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and looked forward to spending the winter in her new seasonal home in Florida. Mavis had such a sweet, beautiful soul and was instantly loved by all who met her. She had a special way of putting everyone at ease, making them feel welcome and significant, as well as always assuming a motherly role in most any situation. Mavis was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always had a very special place in her heart.
Mavis is survived by her husband, Jim; mother, Evelyn Hauck; sons, Danny Blechinger (Cyndi) and Wayne (Janet) Blechinger; grandchildren, Derek Blechinger (Chris), Brian (Tammy) Blechinger, Heather Blechinger (Adam), and Thais Blechinger (Joe); three great-grandchildren; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews; and long time friends, Roger and Mary Reinert. Mavis will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Hauck; and husband, Robert Blechinger.
A Celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Jacob's Well (3211 50th Ave. Chippewa Falls, 715-833-2050). Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
