Fred A. LaTulip, age 92, of Rice Lake, WI, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at his home. He was born on September 22, 1921 in Cloquet, MN to Antoine and Ella (Belden) LaTulip.
After he graduated from Cloquet High School in 1939, Fred was a firefighter for Cloquet Fire Department for over 25 years.
He was married to Kathleen Madigan on March 12, 1966 in Mason City, IA. They moved to Long Lake, WI where they owned and operated Sunset Resort for eight years, then moved to Big Mackenzie Lake in 1971 and then to Rice Lake in 1999.
He was active in Rice Lake Senior Center and was a Life Member of the VFW in Cloquet, MN.
Fred LaTulip is survived by a son, Craig LaTulip of Wentworth, WI; two granddaughters, Jadrianne and Maegan; a step-son, Jim Kirk of Mason City, IA; two sisters, Lucille Johanson of Cloquet, MN and Adele Peltier of Hemet, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen LaTulip; and his parents, Antoine and Ella.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Fr. James Powers officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals.
