Eleanor Coffield

Eleanor Katherine Coffield, 89, of Ladysmith, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013, at Ladysmith Nursing Home, after a long battle with Alz-heimer's Disease. Eleanor was born in Thorp on April 22, 1924, daughter of Peter and Katherine Novak
She married John L. Coffield in St. Mary's Church in Lublin on September 6, 1947. They moved to the Ladysmith area in 1957.
Many of the activities she enjoyed were Republican Women's League, The Order of Secular Servants of Mary, Rusk County Department on Aging, Kinship, Bible Study and Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She loved nature and its beauty and always grew many flowers, a large vegetable garden and rows of strawberries. She raised six children while managing a small farm. She was very creative and enjoyed oil painting, cooking and baking. Her greatest gift to us was an unwavering example of her faith in Jesus Christ.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, John; her
children, John Peter (Laura) Coffield of Anoka, MN, Michael Thomas Coffield of Eau Claire, Mark James (Linda) Coffield of
Caledonia, MN, Patricia Lee Tabor (fiancé LeRoy Otto) of Frontenac, MN, Jean Marie (Craig) Brewster of Lakeville, MN and Cynthia Margaret (Tim Hartin) of Tucson, AZ; her grandchild-ren, Justin, Melissa, Katie, Nicholas, Shane, Ashley, Angela, Collin and Carson; her great-grandchild-
ren, Andrew, Maximus, Ethan, Grace and Madison; her brothers, Toby, Fred, Ray and Roman Kostick.
Funeral services for Eleanor were held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Ladysmith with Fr. Gene Murphy and Deacon Doug Sorenson officiating. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN on Wednesday, December 4.
The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements. Memorials are preferred for Kinship of Rusk County, 209 East Third St. S, Ladysmith, WI, 54848.
