Lloyd E. Halvorson, age 92, formerly of Rice Lake, WI, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2013
in Oregon. He was born to Halvor and Mary J. (Ewen) Halvorson on August 7, 1920 in Mikana, WI.
During World War II he was drafted and served as a medic in the China, Burma and India theatres. Lloyd was married to Opal Knutson on July 28, 1947 at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN.
Lloyd had various occupations including working for the railroad, construction and owning a tavern and resort. He also owned a painting business for 25 years until retirement. Most recently, he lived with family in Oregon.
Lloyd Halvorson is survived by a son, Alan Halvorson of Hillsboro, OR; daughter-in-law, Janet; two granddaughters, Andrea and Cassandra; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Halvorson in 2008; parents and siblings.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Campia, WI, Rev. Ralph Marquardt officiating, with interment in Cedar Lake Cemetery.
