The summer schedule at Crex Meadows Wildlife Area near Grantsburg continues this month with nature outings and camps for all ages. The Crex Photo Club meets this Saturday and again Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m.-noon. Club members share their photos and techniques. An outdoor family program emphasizing outdoors skills is offered every Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. There is no charge, and no registration is necessary. Nature's Little Explorers for ages 2-6 gives kids a chance to discover nature through stories, songs, activities, hike and crafts. The free program is held every Tuesday from 10-11:15 a.m. Wildflower walks are scheduled one Saturday per month, with the remaining dates on July 20 and Aug. 17, both from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The walks, designed to learn how to identify plants, are free. The I Can Paddle workshop is Saturday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m.-noon. Skills for paddling a kayak will be taught on Phantom Lake. Participants can bring their own kayak or rent one. Preregistration is required. Also in August, duck banding is planned Saturday, Aug. 17, and the Tails to Trails program Thursday, Aug. 29 shows dog owners how to enjoy a park visit with their pet.
