Rice Lake's boys track and field squad finished first in six events and went on to win the 12-team Rice Lake Rotary Invitational on Tuesday.
The hosting Warriors scored 156 points, finishing ahead of runner-up Osceola with 130.5 and third-place Northwestern with 92.5 in the field of Division 2 and 3 schools, except for Division 1 Rice Lake.
Claiming individual firsts were junior Ben Widdes in the 200-meter dash, senior Shawn Magee in the 400 and junior Caleb Weber in the 800.
The Warriors also won three relays, at 400, 800 and 3,200 meters.
Rice Lake competed without standout senior long jumper, triple jumper and hurdler Brandyn Christman, who remains sidelined with a leg injury. Head coach Jared Sasada hopes to have Christman back for Division 1 regional action on Tuesday, May 27, in Rice Lake.
"We knew going in (to Tuesday's meet) that missing Brandyn was going to be a big hole to fill. We needed some people to step up and that is exactly what we did," said Sasada.
Besides the Warriors in first places, Rice Lake got strong performances from senior Max Osterbauer, second in the 100-meter dash; junior Eric Western, second in the 400 and third in the 300-meter hurdles; junior Henry Ellenson, second in the high jump and third in the triple jump; and senior Peter White, second in the pole vault.

Warriors girls runner-up
In girls' action, Osceola dominated the top spots and won the team title with 168 points, with Rice Lake runner-up at 143. Hayward placed third among the 12 teams at 121.83.
Osceola won nine events.
Rice Lake won four events, with senior Haley Strouf a double winner. Strouf led the 100-meter hurdles and long jump, placed second in the 300-meter hurdles and was a member of Rice Lake's winning 800-meter relay team.
Also on the winning relay team were sophomore McKenzie Orr and seniors Marissa Fitzgerald and Jordan Lundberg.
"Most of our athletes found themselves beating their personal records, which is what track and field is all about," said Warriors girls' head coach Erin Madson.
Rice Lake's other first place came from senior Maddie Carlsen, who won the 800-meter run by lowering her time.
Freshman Ella Ellenson placed runner-up in both the 400-meter run and high jump.
Also in the 400, sophomore Amber Drost placed third, just over a second behind Ellenson.
"They both surprised me by running their personal bests," said Madson of Ellenson and Drost. "I will continue to have these two run in the open 400, which will be great competition for both."
Madson also noted that though senior Josie Buckley settled for fifth place in Tuesday's tough shot put competition she threw her personal best by more than a foot at 36 feet and 5 inches.
Next action for both the Warrior boys and girls is Tuesday in the Big Rivers conference meet at River Falls. Field events begin at 3:30 p.m.
