Oredockers ride one-hitter to title

After a 5-5 regular season, the Carr Agency/Tobaggan Run Dental Oredockers won the tournament championship in the Major Division of the Red Cedar Men's Fastpitch League last Wednesday.
Cullen Hanson threw a one-hitter as the Oredockers blanked regular season champion Spare Time Bowling/Becker's Trucking 8-0.
Hanson struck out nine and walked none.
The Oredockers took an early lead off losing pitcher Tatum Candler, jumping out 6-0 by the third inning.
Spencer Amundson led the winners' hitting with two doubles while going three for three. Ryan Neil was two for four with a double in the Oredockers' seven-hit attack.
Kent Thill had the only hit, a single, for Spare Time/Becker's.
The Major Division was down to three teams at the end of the season with the withdrawal from the league of Twin Pines Taxidermy. In the only other tournament game, the Oredockers reached the finals with a 9-4 win over the RCL Orangemen.
Hanson pitched no-hit ball through the first five innings of the first-round win.
Clayton Hanson paced the Oredockers with three hits, including a triple and double, while Shaun Carr was two for four with a double. Rich Weber added a triple, and Ryan Neil homered.

Upsets in Minor Division
Rice Lake Weighing Systems won only two games during the regular season before equaling that total in the postseason to claim the Minor Division tournament championship.
RLWS downed GB Sales/Independent Sanitation 12-3 in last Thursday's championship game. GB/Independent had won only one game during the regular season.
Morgan Loew got the pitching win over GB/Independent starter Dustin Holub in the title game. Loew allowed five hits.
For RLWS, Corey Randall and Shawn Elwood doubled. The winners had only five hits but received four walks and had five batters hit by pitches.
Dan Subrt went two for two for GB/Independent.
Both teams scored upsets in the semifinals. RLWS edged regular season co-champion Larson Collision 7-6, and GB/Independent won by the same 7-6 score in eight innings against the other co-champ, Jaybirds.
A six-run first inning propelled RLWS's win, though Larson Collision pecked away at the deficit. Trevor Dysland homered in the seventh to bring Larson Collision to within 7-6, and the losing team stranded two runners as the game ended.
Randall doubled for the winners. For Larson, besides Dysland's homer, Kiel Gowan and Kory Mickelson doubled.
Morgan Loew was the winning pitcher, while Jason Hoff took the loss.
Travis Thompson got the pitching win and Holub the save in the GB/Independent win. After GB/Independent scored the winning run in the top of the eighth, Holub put Jaybirds down in order in the bottom of the eighth.
For the winners, Andy Olson had three hits, Brandyn Christian doubled twice, Scott Mullen doubled and tripled, Bryan Nelson homered and Luke Mathews doubled.
Mark Hopland went two for three for Jaybirds, and losing pitcher Dennis Root doubled.
