Rice Lake slipped to 3-4 in Big Rivers soccer Tuesday with its second straight shutout loss, 2-0 at Eau Claire North. The game was scoreless until North's Allison Zinter connected 13 minutes into the second half. Shoua Khang, who assisted on the first goal, scored only 7 minutes later to make it a 2-0 final. Rice Lake, 8-4-1 overall, put 16 shots on goal, but North's Katelyn Alvarez had big game with 12 saves for the shutout. Rice Lake goalkeeper Hannah Arrigoni faced 11 shots and was credited with five saves. The Warriors lost 5-0 at River Falls on Monday. Arrigoni faced 22 shots and had 10 saves. Rice Lake put only seven shots at River Falls netminder Hannah Ellis, who had three saves. Danni Filkins scored the first two goals for River Falls, which led 2-0 at halftime. The Wildcats scored three goals in the game's final 20 minutes. Rice Lake stays on the road this Thursday night, playing at Hudson. The Warriors are in a four-team tournament at Hayward on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m., and host Menomonie on Tuesday and Eau Claire North next Wednesday, both at 7 p.m.
